Sowing Seeds Community Garden
Communities for Better Health (CFBH) received funding from Amerigroup, which helped build the Sowing Seeds Community Garden. The garden has opened opportunities for Acres Homes residents to build community with one another through garden classes and has provided community residents with locally grown and organic produce at the Acres Homes Farmers Market.
Learn how to get your garden started or take-home fresh garden tips and tricks with our farm associate, Amanda Howard! All ages are welcome to participate in garden activities!
Amanda hosts Garden Days every Friday from 9am-12pm starting May 2022.
The goal for the market is to create a family-oriented shopping environment that serves as a platform for economic development while expanding access to fresh and healthy foods.
The Market is held every first and third Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Old Bethune Academy, located at 2500 S. Victory Dr., Houston, TX 77088. Please follow our social media pages for any event announcements and updates to the schedule!
